What type of computer are you using?
Before you start, you need:
- Access to a computer running Windows operating system
- A USB cable to connect your BlackBerry into the computer
- A fast internet connection
Please note, the upgrade process can take more than 1 hour during which time you will not be able to make or receive calls on your BlackBerry. Do not disconnect your phone from the computer until the process is complete.

How to update your BlackBerry
1 Download BlackBerry Desktop Software
- Intel® compatible 1GHz or higher processor
- 512 MB of RAM
- USB 1.1 or higher USB port
- Screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater
- 100 MB of free hard disk space for typical installation
- Microsoft® Windows® XP SP2 or later, Windows Vista™, Windows 7
- Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 or an active Internet connection
- iTunes version 7.7.1 or later or Windows Media® Player version 10 or later for music synchronisation

The BlackBerry Desktop Software will guide you through the process of updating your device to the latest version.
Before you start, you need:

- A USB cable to connect your BlackBerry into the computer
- A fast internet connection
